Effective Transmission

The Multi3D Technology presents a new framework for efficient
transmission of 3D geometry models including associated textures
and animation paths via low bandwidth networks and Internet.
Multi3D Technology provides an efficient representation of
precise parametric geometry and animation path, parametric
description of geometry modifications, progressive transmission
of polygonal meshes and textures.

Geometry compression techniques employed in Multi3D Technology
are capable of delivering highly detailed geometry objects in
small files with a property of streamable detail progression.
Geometry compression and streaming are playing a key role in
the transmission of 3D scenes, but in the terms of throughput,
it is the image (or texture) usage that dominates the download
time. In order to overcome this problem we have implemented
an image compression technique based on wavelet image transformation
that is geared for high visual fidelity and high compression
ratios overcoming current image compression standards such as
jpeg and gif.
Powered by these techniques for geometry, texture and animations
compression Multi3D Technology is capable of effectively transmitting
complex 3D scenes.
